2020 Summer Program Overview

This summer we are excited to once again be opening our doors and 50-acre facility to offer four weeks of exciting programs. Through the programs we look to provide a fun and safe environment where children are encouraged to pursue new adventures and make lasting friendships.

Drop off between 8:30 am and 9:00 am               Pick Up between 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm

*After care is available if there is enough interest. Unfortunately we cannot offer before or after care for Kids Camp as they are licensed by the Ministry of Education.

*There is no Before Care Program this year*           After Care Program Pick Up 5:00pm

After Program Cost $30 /week per child  OR

After Program Cost $55 /week per family

Students will be responsible for their own lunch daily

Space is limited for each program. Apply early to ensure a spot!

Families are encouraged to register quickly as space is limited for each program. Each summer most camps have waiting lists.

In addition, each family is required to complete and sign a Health Form.

Kids Camp


Week 1 June 29 – July 3, Week 2 July 6 – 10

Week 3 July 13-17, Week 4 July 20-24, Week 5 July 27 – 31

Cost:  Week 1 (4 day) $135, Week 2-5 $165/week or $725 for all 5 weeks if registered before May 31st

Ages: Children must be 4-6 years old as of June 30, 2020

Kids Camp is a licensed program taught by an RECE that is a combination of strengthening literacy and numeracy skills along with a rich and wholesome summer vacation experience. The children will be able to play with others their own age in a school setting. We are able to supplement the academic schedule with arts and crafts, drama, music and movement, cooking and sports in the gymnasium. Each week will be a different theme.

There is no before or after care that can be provided for this camp.

This program is being led by Apple Seeds Preschool’s lead teacher, Christel Pryce. Christel is a Registered Early Childhood Educator. 

Hockey Camp – Cancelled

Instructor: Tom Bourne

Date: June 29 – July 3

Cost: $235  (4 day week)                                     Ages: 7 to 14 as of Dec.31st

Hockey Camp is geared for boys and girls who have hockey playing experience and want to further develop their skills. Campers will be divided into groups and given the opportunity to improve their hockey skills both on and off the ice in a positive environment. Beyond the specific hockey skills and drills, emphasis will be placed on character building including respect, discipline, fair play and sportsmanship.

The program will begin each day at the Beckwith Arena with children having 2.5 hours of ice time daily. Children will then be bused back to Calvary Christian Academy where they will have opportunity to participate in both dry-land training and cross-training in the Academy’s gymnasium and facility.

This program is being led by the Principal at CCA. Tom Bourne has hockey experience both as a player and coach.

Lego Robotics – Both Camps are Full

Instructor: Gabriel Braden

Date: July 6th – 10th, July 13th – 17th

Cost: $175 /week                                                           Ages: 9 to 14 as of Dec.31st

NEW – Summer 2020. Gabriel Braden of Steampunk Robotics will be offering 2 weeks of Lego Robotics workshops. The two main aspects of robotics, construction and programming of the robot to perform tasks, will be taught. LEGO Technic will be used to build the robot and all LEGO Technic pieces will be provided. The workshop will focus primarily on the Ottawa Robotics Competition (http://www.orc.ieeeottawa.ca/en/) and will emulate the challenges that are part of that competition.

Cooking Camp – Cancelled

Instructor: Sylvia Bourne


Cost: $95 (day) /week                                                           Ages: 8 to 14 as of Dec.31st

This camp is designed for kids that have an interest in learning to help in the kitchen.   During their time they will learn the basics of food handling.  They will learn some food safety and how to prepare healthy simple snacks and meals themselves.  Our hope is that the week will equip and encourage kids to be a help in the kitchen at home.

Please note this camp is only for the morning hours 8:30am – 12:00pm

Students have the option of staying at CCA for the afternoon as part of a fun program. An additional fee of $75 will apply.

This program is being led by Sylvia Bourne.  Sylvia is a certified food handler with more than 15 years in the food and beverage industry.

Jr. Sports Camp – Full

Date: July 20th – 24th

Cost: $165 /week                                                         Ages: 6 to 12 as of Dec.31st

Jr. Sports Camp is for the sports enthusiast that looks forward to playing hard, having fun and learning sports and sports skills. Each day, morning and afternoon, we will focus on different sports and have a lot of fun
