CCA has an administrative team of four dynamic professionals, bringing different strengths and gifts to the running of the school and office.

Betsy Simpson Betsy Simpson – Principal

Love for God and the children of CCA is evident in everything Betsy does. She has a CCA graduate – who was one of the original 6 CCA children in the basement of a church – and two more children still in the school. Betsy has a degree in educational psychology from the University of Western Ontario. In addition to her work at CCA, she oversees the Leadership Club and Running Club. Her vibrancy, plethora of ideas, and uncanny ability to multi-task have been great blessings to CCA.

Regina Johnson

Regina was born and raised in Europe, in a small but beautiful Mediterranean country, Croatia, separated from Italy by the Adriatic Sea. She graduated from the University of Zagreb, Croatia – Faculty of Arts, B.A. in Pedagogy, with a major in Elementary School Education.

She brings invaluable experience to CCA from her many years working as an elementary school and kindergarten pedagogue in Croatia. Well traveled and multi-lingual, Regina has a broad background.

She joined the CCA team in the fall of 2005, and is a much loved and extremely efficient presence in the office.

In her spare time (of which she has little), Regina loves to cook, garden, fish, play sports, enjoy music and read. But most of all, she loves to travel and spend time with her family, including her husband and two sons.

Trish Irwin-Kitt_2 Trish Irwin-Kitt

Trish brings an extensive business background to the administrative team at CCA. With a degree in Communication Studies, Trish ran her own business for many years before working at CCA. A few terms on the CCA Board of Directors, many involvements on a volunteer level, and past experience home schooling her own 3 children have rounded out her skills. Part of the CCA community since 2001, Trish and her husband, Kevin have two CCA graduates, while their youngest is still a CCA student. Her gifts include strong organizational skills and a resourceful approach to problem solving.

Her leisure time is occupied by spending time with her family, reading and enjoying the outdoors.

Sarah Loten_2 Sarah Loten

Sarah comes to the CCA administration team with a strong education background and is currently finishing her M. Ed at Queens. She has a passion for education and for reaching every child in the school. Sarah has a particular interest in the area of cognitive studies with an emphasis on learning disabilities and gifted education. She’s taught for 18 years at various levels of education from elementary school to university, and worked in administration at the Ottawa School of Music and National Capital Suzuki School of Music. In fact, Sarah was CCA’s first music teacher, running our violin ensemble program!

Personal hobbies include equestrian dressage competition, reading and hanging out with her five children and husband, when she isn’t busy co-managing their large farm.
